Year End Appeal Letter Multiple Sclerosis

Holiday Greetings!

As the year ends and a new one begins, it is important to reflect on the love and peace that surrounds us. Yet, for many, this time of year can also be filled with quiet struggles. Let me share a story of someone living with multiple sclerosis (MS), whose journey serves as a reminder of both the challenges and strength found in the human spirit.

Meet Sarah, a vibrant woman in her late 30s, whose life was completely altered by an MS diagnosis. She once danced, ran, and enjoyed travelling. Always filled with energy and excitement for the future. But as MS began to take hold, the things she once loved became more difficult. Simple tasks like brushing her hair, walking to the mailbox, or even holding a conversation started to feel like monumental challenges.

At first, Sarah tried to push through, determined not to let the disease define her. But as the symptoms worsened, fatigue, numbness, and the loss of motor control—she found herself slowly isolated, not just physically but emotionally. The love and support of her family and friends were her anchors, yet MS slowly began to take its toll on her sense of independence and spirit.

Sarah's story is not unique, but it is a story we need to hear. Those living with MS often face a relentless and heartbreaking struggle. They lose the ability to do the things they once loved and sometimes feel like they are losing themselves. Yet, in the face of such adversity, Sarah still finds moments of joy. She finds strength in her family’s love, including her dog, Toby. She relies on the support of the community, and the ongoing fight for better care and research.

As we celebrate this season, let us remember people like Sarah—those living with MS and similar conditions—and find ways to make their journey a little easier. The love and peace we wish for the world are needed more than ever by those facing these challenges.

Let this holiday season inspire us to show kindness, lend a hand, and support the people who need it most. In the spirit of compassion, let us work toward a future where no one has to feel alone in their fight. Please make a generous donation (HERE) so that we can continue to provide the important care people like Sarah need.

Wishing you all a season filled with love, peace, and the hope for a brighter tomorrow. May the new year bring us closer together, stronger in spirit, and united in purpose.

Warmly,

Roy A. Rangel
